This stunning antique Scottish shield brooch is Victorian, Circa 1880.
The brooch is beautifully engraved and depicts a Scottish shield topped with a crown.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.
The piece is decorated in colourful Quartz Stones with a magnificent amber coloured Quartz in the centre.
The legendary Quartz can be found in a variety of different colours and have been valued throughout history by spiritual leaders who believed these stones were divine.
The brooch is all set in Silver and gilded in 18ct Yellow Gold.
This is a truly special Scottish piece and a great collectors item!
